BORA wok induction hob

What is a wok hob?

A wok hob is specially designed for preparing dishes in a wok. The recess in the centre of the hob fits the shape of a traditional wok perfectly. This special design allows high temperatures to be reached quickly and distributed evenly. Unlike classic hotplates, a wok induction hob allows you to combine intense heat with precise temperature control. This makes it ideal for frying, braising and steaming Asian dishes – and much more besides.

Performance and Energy Efficiency of BORA Wok Cooktops

An induction hob with wok recess from BORA is characterised by outstanding efficiency and performance. Induction technology generates heat directly in the cookware – not on the glass ceramic surface. This reduces heating times and minimises energy loss. At the same time, intelligent heating levels ensure that only as much energy is used as is really necessary.

Thanks to integrated overheating protection, the hob is automatically reduced if the temperature rises too high. BORA wok hobs not only protect the technology, but also ensure safe cooking in everyday use. These features prove particularly useful during long cooking processes or intensive use, helping to keep energy consumption low.

Frequently asked questions about wok induction hobs

Yes, a wok induction hob is designed for high temperatures. The power output, which is controlled via the heat settings, also allows for intensive searing and browning.

A wok induction hob uses electromagnetic fields to heat the base of the wok directly. The specially shaped recess ensures that the wok fits exactly onto the hob and cannot slip, guaranteeing even heat distribution.

It should be cleaned after each use to prevent food from sticking. A soft cloth and mild detergent are sufficient to keep the hob in perfect condition.

The energy requirement depends on the selected heat setting and the cooking process. However, thanks to the high efficiency of induction technology, significantly less energy is consumed compared to traditional electric cookers.

Depending on the model, a BORA induction hob with wok recess requires between 30 and 40 centimetres of space in width:

  • Classic 2.0 series: 32.7 centimetres wide hob
  • Professional 3.0 series: 37 centimetres wide hob

Please note that the installation dimensions consist of the width of the cooktop and the width of the extractor. In addition, the BORA Classic 2.0 can only be operated in combination with a cooktop extractor. A wok induction cooktop can be optimally integrated into modular cooking systems, but make sure you allow sufficient space for it.
